BAKU, Azerbaijan — During the 6th Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition (ADEX 2026) at the Baku Expo Center, Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) presented a full-scale physical mockup of the J-10CE multirole fighter aircraft featuring official roundels and livery of the Azerbaijani Air Force (RMM). The static display was inspected by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his official exhibition walkthrough.
The presentation underscores China’s expanding combat aviation outreach in South Caucasus and Central Asian markets, positioning the single-engine 4.5-generation fighter as a prospective capability upgrade alongside Azerbaijan’s ongoing acquisition of PAC/CAC JF-17C Block 3 aircraft. The J-10CE export variant integrates an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, digital fly-by-wire controls, and an advanced glass cockpit capable of launching PL-15E long-range active radar-guided and PL-10E short-range imaging infrared air-to-air missiles.
