WASHINGTON / CAIRO — The U.S. State Department has made a determination approving a potential Foreign Military Sale (FMS) to the Government of Egypt for FGM-148F Javelin anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) systems and associated equipment, with an estimated total program cost of $832 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) delivered the required certification notifying Congress of the proposed transaction.

The procurement represents Egypt’s first major acquisition of the Javelin anti-armor platform, intended to modernize the infantry anti-tank capabilities of the Egyptian Armed Forces. The primary contractors will be the Javelin Joint Venture (JJV), comprising Lockheed Martin (Orlando, Florida) and RTX / Raytheon (Arlington, Virginia).
