KIELCE, Poland — State-owned defense conglomerates Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE, Türkiye) and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ, Poland) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the MSPO 2026 defense exhibition to cooperate on the integration and co-development of the TOLGA Short-Range Air Defense (SHORAD) and Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) architecture. The strategic industrial agreement focuses on enhancing air defense capabilities along NATO’s Eastern Flank against low-altitude aerial threats, including massed drone swarms, smart precision-guided munitions, and low-flying cruise missiles.

The MKE TOLGA architecture provides a fully integrated, multi-layered defensive shield combining detection, hard-kill, and non-kinetic soft-kill effectors into a single open-architecture network-centric battle management system. Under the partnership framework, MKE and PGZ will collaborate on system integration, non-kinetic intercept solutions, and joint production opportunities aimed at satisfying Polish Armed Forces operational requirements while addressing broader European and international export markets.
