Turkish naval defense prime HAVELSAN has highlighted the successful deployment of its ADVENT Combat Management System (CMS) and integrated autonomous platforms during the Turkish Naval Forces’ Unmanned Maritime Systems Exercise (TURNAs-2026) in the Gulf of Antalya and the Eastern Mediterranean.
During the historic exercise—which brought together 18 surface combatants, 1,300 personnel, 17 defense firms, and 41 distinct uncrewed systems—HAVELSAN integrated multi-domain uncrewed assets across maritime, air, land, and underwater environments into a unified Common Operational Picture (COP). Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces, Admiral Dr. Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, personally inspected the command center and congratulated HAVELSAN for its success in establishing the ADVENT Joint Operational Picture, coordinating multi-domain uncrewed assets via network-centric C2, and validating the operational performance of the SANCAR USV, USV-12, BULUT UAV, and BARKAN UGVs.

HAVELSAN Autonomous Platform Baseline Features
🚀 SANCAR USV (Uncrewed Surface Vessel): Jointly developed by HAVELSAN and Yonca-Onuk Shipyard; integrated with ADVENT CMS for autonomous navigation, surveillance, surface warfare (STW), and precision missile engagement
🚀 USV-12 USV & SAGAN UAV Integration: Jointly developed by HAVELSAN and VN Marine Technology; demonstrated autonomous launch of the SAGAN UAV from the USV-12 surface platform to strike a simulated coastal target (Maritime-Air Cross-Domain Engagement)
🚀 BARKAN UGV (Uncrewed Ground Vehicle): Deployed during amphibious landing and coastal security scenarios for autonomous land reconnaissance, urban combat, and fire support
🚀 BULUT UAV (Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle): Provided autonomous aerial reconnaissance, communication relay, and data-link bridging between air and surface units
TIMES OF DEFENCE ASSESSMENT
Admiral Dr. Ercüment Tatlıoğlu’s description of TURNAs-2026 as *”the exercise of the warfare we will conduct in the future”* highlights a strategic doctrinal shift in the Turkish Navy. As modern battlefields experience a proliferation of disparate uncrewed platforms (USVs, UAVs, UGVs), militaries face severe risks of tactical data overload and command friction.
From a technical and operational perspective, HAVELSAN’s integration architecture demonstrates three core advantages:
1. **Platform-Agnostic CMS Command**: By successfully unifying 41 different uncrewed platforms from 17 separate defense firms under a single ADVENT CMS architecture, HAVELSAN has proven that ADVENT serves not only crewed surface combatants but also complex manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T) environments.
2. **Maritime-Air Cross-Domain Execution**: The successful autonomous launch of a SAGAN UAV from the USV-12 surface vessel to strike a target validates the capability of distributed uncrewed naval systems to execute independent offensive strikes without relying on traditional aircraft carrier aviation.
3. **Reduced OODA Loop Latency**: Streaming real-time telemetry and video feeds directly into the ADVENT COP accelerates decision-making cycles, giving commanders immediate situational awareness across dispersed multi-domain assets.
HAVELSAN showcases autonomous and network-centric warfare capabilities at TURNAs-2026! 🇹🇷⚡⚓🤖
Turkish Naval Forces Commander Admiral Dr. Ercüment Tatlıoğlu congratulated HAVELSAN for its ADVENT COP & uncrewed systems success.
The system also includes:
– ADVENT CMS integrated over 40 maritime, air, land & underwater uncrewed systems into a unified operational picture
– SANCAR USV, USV-12 USV, BULUT UAV & BARKAN UGV executed coordinated autonomous missions
– USV-12 successfully launched an autonomous SAGAN UAV to strike a simulated coastal target during cross-domain drills
– Real-time EO/IR video & telemetry from over 30 uncrewed platforms streamed directly to command centers
– Validated swarm and platoon-level multi-vendor coordination under a single network-centric C2 architectureAdmiral Tatlıoğlu: “TURNAs-2026 is the exercise of the warfare we will conduct in the future.”
Integrating uncrewed naval, air, and ground assets through the ADVENT backbone shapes the future of Joint Autonomous Warfare.
