SAN DIEGO / PHOENIX — General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) and the Arizona Army National Guard (AZARNG) are finalizing plans to deliver eight modernized Gray Eagle 25M (GE-25M) uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) by September 2027.
Arizona, operating under the 40th Infantry Division, will become the first state in the U.S. Army National Guard (ARNG) to establish an operational Gray Eagle 25M unit. The force structure strategy calls for fielding eight Divisional UAS Companies—one dedicated to each ARNG division—with four additional units slated for delivery by late 2029. Three GE-25M units are currently funded by Congress and under contract with GA-ASI. Once fully operational, the aircraft will support global Combatant Command (COCOM) mission profiles and homeland defense across the Western Hemisphere.
