WASHINGTON — General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) disclosed key technical features of its XM30 Wolf Mechanized Infantry Combat Vehicle during the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) 2026 Annual Meeting and Exposition.
Engineering to replace the legacy M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) in heavy armored combat formations, the ~48-ton tracked platform is competing against American Rheinmetall’s Lynx IFV in the U.S. Army’s XM30 program. The XM30 Wolf features an unmanned remote turret armed with a 50 mm XM913 automatic cannon and coaxial .50 caliber heavy machine gun, a reduced two-person crew architecture (driver and commander/gunner) supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI) workload-reduction algorithms, 12 integrated perimeter cameras feeding augmented reality (AR) displays for dismounted infantry, and direct real-time video feed integration from offboard uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs). GDLS has delivered four of eight planned prototypes to Aberdeen Proving Ground and Fort Hood (1st Cavalry Division) for physical evaluation, ahead of an anticipated Army selection decision in mid-2027.
