PERTH / ADELAIDE — The Australian Department of Defence has taken delivery of its second batch of M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launchers from the United States, advancing operational timelines by two full years.
Unveiled during the Land Forces 2026 Exposition at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (October 6–8, 2026), the accelerated delivery follows the arrival of Australia’s initial HIMARS units in March 2025. Minister for Defence Industry Pat Conroy confirmed that the Land 8113 Phase 2 procurement framework—a $2.3B AUD ($1.6B USD) investment—is now on track to achieve Full Operational Capability (FOC) four years ahead of baseline schedules. The new battery will join the 10th Fires Brigade’s long-range fires regiment based at the Edinburgh Defence Precinct in Adelaide, South Australia.
