LONDON — Team LionStrike—an industrial consortium comprising GM Defense, BAE Systems, and NP Aerospace—has officially been selected by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) to downselect and progress to the next phase of the Land Mobility Vehicle / Light Mobility Vehicle (LMV) procurement competition. Designed to replace aging legacy light utility assets across the British Army—specifically the Land Rover Wolf and Pinzgauer fleets nearing end-of-service life by 2030—the program seeks low-risk, military-off-the-shelf (MOTS) derivative solutions capable of meeting tactical transport, gun-limber towing, and frontline logistics requirements.

The industrial teaming model leverages GM Defense’s global manufacturing footprint and commercial vehicle technologies, BAE Systems’ land defense integration expertise, and NP Aerospace’s UK-based systems engineering and through-life support infrastructure. Team LionStrike’s portfolio submission encompasses three primary vehicle variants: the Chevrolet Silverado Light Duty (LD), Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty (HD), and the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2-derived Infantry Squad Vehicle – Utility (ISV-U). Engineered to transport troops, tactical equipment, and NATO-standard palletized cargo across complex off-road environments, the platforms provide significant COTS sustainment commonality and reduced lifecycle operational costs for the UK MoD.
