ANKARA, Türkiye — Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi (MKE) demonstrated the operational capabilities of its TOLGA Close-In Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) Laser Weapon System during the Turkish Armed Forces’ “Ateş Serbest-2026” (Fire Free-2026) exercise in Polatlı, Ankara.
Integrated into the multi-layered TOLGA C-UAS framework, the 20 kW multi-aperture fiber laser system successfully engaged and destroyed a quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) target at a slant range of 760 meters during live-fire demonstrations. The system utilizes a four-module 5 kW emitter array (4 × 5 kW) mounted on a stabilized electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) turret, offering a flexible, layered defense mechanism through three distinct engagement tiers: optical dazzle (glare), sensor/camera blackout (permanent damage), and kinetic thermal destruction (hard kill).
